Teresa Clarke, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of, was honored with the Merrill Lynch Africa Business Leadership Award during the launch of the Africa 2.0 Foundation in North America. Other recipients of the award included Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Group of Nigeria and Arnold Ekpe, CEO of pan-African Ecobank.

The Africa 2.0 Foundation, hosts the pre-eminent gathering of young leaders from across the Africa. Ms. Clarke was presented her award in a special session during the Africa 2.0 Summit in New York featuring former Nigerian President Olesegun Obasanjo and Hadeel Ibrahim, Executive Director of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

In presenting Ms. Clarke with her award, Africa 2.0 acknowledged the significant role Ms. Clarke has played in giving the world a balanced perspective on Africa, and in particular, noted her role as creator and executive producer of Africa Straight Up, a dynamic film which showcases the best of the African continent in business, technology, education and government.

Roberta Annan, President of the North America Chapter of Africa 2.0, stated that the award was for “leaders who have made it today and have also given back to the African community.”

Olumide Oluwole, Director of West African Business Development at, was awarded with the 2012 Entrepreneurship Award by Nation to Nation Networking at their 5th Annual International Diaspora Award Dinner.

Mr. Oluwole was singled out for this esteemed recognition based on his wide ranging activities between the US and Africa, all of which serve the common purpose of building strong human, cultural, and commercial bridges between Americans and Nigerians.
